CYBERCRIME - Rife throughout COVID-19 (What to do?)

CYBERCRIME - Should you consider Insurance?

The Australian Government recently announced a large-scale Cyber-attack from a “sophisticated, state-based hacker”, who has attempted to infiltrate various Australian businesses. With many companies working remotely, now is the time to act and ensure your business is taking the necessary precautions to reduce your vulnerability. Whether your business is large or small, if you do not continue to increase your awareness and cybersecurity to prevent hackers, your business risk exposure is increasing.

The Australian Cyber Security Centre has provided some useful information for businesses to follow which you can view here.

ARE YOU EXPOSED?

With so many companies focusing on bolstering the security of their IT systems, hackers have changed their approach. 90% of breaches now begin with human error – something hackers are increasingly exploiting by targeting vulnerable staff. It means the first step to protecting your business is focusing on human risk management and awareness. To help, our partners from Insurance Advisernet have created a Cyber Aware Training Program, exclusively for Risk Guidance clients.

INCREASE AWARENESS, REDUCE RISK

By testing, training, measuring, and reducing your company’s human risks, your staff will

learn critical cyber security strategies for:

· Email Safety

· Malware Threats

· Phishing Threats

· Social Networking Safety

· Passwords

The free program operates on all digital platforms including desktops, laptops and tablets, as well as iPhone and Android phones. It takes less than 20 minutes to complete and a certificate of completion is provided at the end of the course.
